Our medical group has proudly served the Pikes Peak region for over 70 years!
Soquel (pronounced "So-Kell") Schafer comes to Optum with experience in primary care and urology, with special interests in UTIs in elderly patients, urinary incontinence, and kidney/ureteral stones.
She is a thoughtful, evidence-based provider who is described as caring, supportive, and warm. She enjoys building strong relationships with patients and strives to make patients feel heard and understood. Urology gives Soquel the unique and rewarding opportunity to establish relationships as many urology issues are ones that take time and several visits.
In her free time, she enjoys cooking (with new additional skill of cooking at high altitude), gardening, chicken wrangling, traveling, off-roading, and studying Spanish. She stays active by cycling, running, hiking, and chasing after her Standard Poodle. She's glad you're reading this and looks forward to meeting you!
