was prescribed a high dose of z pak which was incorrect. my pharmacist caught it thank goodness. pharmacist had to call the doctor which delayed me getting the medicine
Dr. is a good listener and and a great encourager.
This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a provider. I read off a list I made of my largest concerns, suicidal 2+ weeks a month and horrible overall health due to PCOS and neck injuries. Sharon didn't ask any questions just listened to me say what I was feeling and then said what do I do for stress relief. I should drink a cup of tea. I was shocked and hurt. feeling suicidal with anxiety and pain from PCOS is real and she made me feel like I just need to try yoga. so dismissive and never asked questions on my history of abnormal cells/cervical issues, hormone issues with certain low dose pills. After telling her about my herniated neck and showing her my x-rays she brushed it off as not very important and that PT could help me learn stretches. I told her I've tried that in Florida, it did nothing and this pain is debilitating. she said ill probably always have some neck pain. no exam was performed, she didn't ask any other questions about my suicidal remarks, or the fact I checked off every box in the mental health section. After rushing me out, she said she would perform the pelvic exam in 3 months. I wanted to get a referral to an ObGYN but she told me she would be able to do it in house. I left crying. I couldn't go back to work that evening because of how much worse I felt. Sharon needs to be spoken to. a provider cannot hit auto pilot and treat patients without care or questions. I feel I am a strong person but the lack of care, and help crushed me. I would hate another patient with any mental health issues leave feeling the way I did. After waiting longer for appts due to covid, and then being rushed out and brushed over was the worst feelings ever.
First appointment with provider. She was pleasant, looked a little desheveld, mask to large, she kept fiddling with it - that was a big concern, maybe she'd had a rough day. Was there for wart and yet office was out of freezing agent to take care of it. Did listen to my concerns and helped with referrals for back pain to PT, and request for dermatology referral, but dermatologist office never did call me, I had to call them, perhaps the office dropped the ball on giving my name to them. Total score with all considered 5 out of 10.
I'm very pleased with Dr McKelvey. She is very professional and spends enough time on my many questions. Unlike with so many others, I never feel rushed to move on.
I will not refer anyone here and my family amd friends will no longer be apart of optim
Very Caring
very good first time experience would agree upon future visits
very good to get prescriptions and good at returning calls
I apparently was asking too many questions & she said "oh this is too much" & walked out! Then she lied about the qty. of a med she could supply. I checked w/the pharmacist & my other doc prescribed.
*Dr. McKelvey & her nurse do a really good job for me.
I have a lot of health issues, yet I left this appointment encouraged. I felt like Dr. McKelvey could relate to me and my struggles.
we looked at certain concerns with various options. Watching diet and exercise for most.
The visit time is ALWAYS TOO SHORT! My feelings are I'm left a bit in the air, not sure if her brief comments... ARE TOO BRIEF, because she doesn't have time for explanations.
Sharon McKelvey took my concerns seriously and attempted to resolve the issues.
