Dr. Alger has been in practice since 1999, focusing on family medicine for her career. She previously was a preceptor for Stony Brook's family medicine residency program, and was awarded the Stony Brook University Department of Family Medicine, Obstetrical Teacher of the Year in both 2001 and 2002. Dr. Alger is described as compassionate, conscientious, and calm. She believes in treating all patients with the respect, compassion, and thoughtfulness she would give to her own family. When not seeing patients, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, and studying genealogy.
